A note from Dr. Christina Mazzone, Owner and Lead Dentist at Children's Dental Specialists
I was the kid who’s first dental visit was not stellar, and at the age of 5 I was referred to a pediatric dentist. There was such a thing as a pediatric dentist!
Throughout my years of early employment, I have always worked with kids. In fact, my very first job was hosting birthday parties at Chuck E. Cheese. My longest standing job was as a lifeguard, teaching swimming lessons to all ages and certifying teens in CPR and First Aid as well as becoming lifeguards.
Who knew all these experiences have shaped me towards a career with kids?
Teaching came easily to me, so the most natural career choice in college was to be a teacher. With a Biology major and Chemistry minor, I was going to be a middle school science teacher. After completing all the required teaching courses, I had a change of mind. You can ask me all about it!
So off to dental school I went, and of course a residency in pediatrics.
I have fond memories of my pediatric dentist, but I wanted to do it DIFFERENTLY!
No Scrubs. No white lab coats. No eugenol smell! A place where kids are excited to come to the dentist and their parents are at ease. A place where dentistry is made FUN!
